Zero Tolerance Policy

Midshire Veterinary Group aims to provide a professional and caring service for patients and clients alike. To ensure a good relationship, the basis of mutual trust, confidence and respect is vital.

We take the health, wellbeing and safety of our staff and visitors very seriously and therefore we have a zero tolerance approach to any harassment, rude, abusive, threatening or violent behaviour towards them.

Examples of unacceptable behaviour include, but are not limited to:

  • Verbal abuse; using rude, abusive or threatening language towards our staff.

  • Any threatened, attempted or actual physical violence towards staff.

  • Making racial or any kind of discriminatory remarks or gestures.

  • Making sexual remarks, propositions/advances, implications or gestures.

  • Making persistent or unrealistic demands that cause stress or intimidation to our staff.

  • Making malicious allegations.

  • Theft, criminal activity, attempted or actual damage to our properties and contents.

  • Failure to comply with our policies and requirements including health and safety rules.

The above applies to any individual or anyone connected to that individual and extends to behaviour in person, via the telephone, email, online and social media and covers all our practice sites and grounds, and to our staff working off site or indeed who are off duty.

Should unacceptable behaviour occur;

EITHER, you will be warned that continued provision of our services to you will cease if you act in a similar way again. Should your behaviour recur, you will be informed that your use of our services will cease. Any criminal acts will be reported to the police, and we will share information relating to the incident with our other branches to ensure that we maintain a consistent approach to the cessation of our services.

OR you will be asked to leave the premises, and any criminal acts will be reported to the police. We will share information relating to the incident with our other branches to ensure that we maintain a consistent approach to the cessation of our services.

OR for third party contractors or service providers we will cease using your services with immediate effect and any criminal acts will be reported to the police. We will share information relating to the incident with our other branches to ensure that we maintain a consistent approach to the cessation of your services.
